Is the hidden text really removed?
Yes. Pages with a redaction are turned into an image with the black zones baked in; the text and content underneath no longer exist in the final file.
Are my files sent to a server?
No, the entire redaction happens in your browser; no file is uploaded.
Do unmasked pages lose quality?
No. Only pages with at least one masked zone are flattened to an image; the others are kept as-is, selectable text included.
